Nightmares on Wax – Carboot Soul (2LP Vinyl)

One of the finest downtempo records of the '90s.

Released in 1999, Carboot Soul saw George Evelyn take the laid-back sound of Nightmares on Wax even further, mixing smoky hip-hop beats with warm soul, jazz and beautifully understated grooves.

The gorgeous "Les Nuits" sets the tone, followed by tracks like "Morse" and "Finer". It's a record made for slowing things down, and one that sounds particularly good on vinyl.
